James John Gonzales, age 73, peacefully passed away at his home in Rio Rancho, NM on December 4, 2018. He was a caring thoughtful husband and dad. He was a Vietnam veteran who served two tours and retired from the FAA as a flight service technician. John was known for his great hunting and fishing skills. He was also a great all-around outdoors man, who enjoyed his guns and chopping wood, and he believed guns don’t kill people, people kill people.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Kay Gonzales; his daughter, Tina L. Cordova, and son-in-law; Edward E. Cordova; his son, Michael J. Gonzales and eight grandchildren; Jessica Gonzales, Alissa Gonzales, Colette Cordova, Zachary Gonzales, Jenna Cordova, Sienna Gonzales, Jeremiah Cordova, Addie Cordova and two great-grandchildren; Christopher Gutierrez, and Jewel Gutierrez.
He is also survived by his father, John Andres Gonzales; his sister, Patricia Fairchild; brother, Louis Gonzales; sister, Michelle White; and cousin, Ronald Lucero. John was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Rodriguez.
A Church Mass will be held Thursday, December 13, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 1502 Sara Rd SE Rio Rancho, NM. Burial will follow Mass at Santa Fe National Cemetery 501 N. Guadalupe St. Santa Fe, NM at 1:30 pm.
