.James Davidson, age 95, passed away on April 20, 2017 at his home with his wife and daughter at his side.
He was born November 29, 1921 at his family homestead in Plains, NM. Jay was known for his love of family and country. He served in the Marine Corp during WWII. When he returned he married Ruth, attended UNM and lettered in baseball. After graduation he spent a career of 36 ½ years at Sandia National Laboratories retiring from the Safety Division. In retirement he worked 15 years as a SCORE volunteer at the Albuquerque Police Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and three brothers. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth. He is also survived by his daughter, Marcia Archer (Rex); his grandson, Doug Archer (Sarah); his granddaughter, Vanessa Martin (Joe); his son, Craig Davidson (Helen); and his step grandson, Alex Contreras. He has four great-grandchildren, Cali, KL, Ryder and Reese. He leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and their families.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at the FRENCH – Lomas Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to The Ranches, 6209 Hendrix Ave NE, Albuquerque, or your favorite charity.
