James Comunas

James Comunas, resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1970, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the age of 91.

Born in White Plains, NY to Primo Comunas Fernandez and Aurora Blanco, both Spanish immigrants.  He was raised in Spain from the age of one, he returned to the country of his birth at the age of 30.  There he eventually met his wife to be Isabel Ramirez Carillo.  After her death at the age of 43, he was left raising their only child, Frank Comunas.

Later in life, he met Lucia Gonzales at The Solo Club where they refined their dance steps.  He enjoyed playing chess, watching soccer, and so-called dancing.

Burial will occur Tuesday, April 27, 2021, 11:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park.
