Cochrane, James A. "Art"
James A. "Art" Cochrane left us in the early morning hours of February 18, 2016 to reunite with the love of his life, Dorothy. Art lived a long and fulfilling life as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Art was born in Chicago and raised in Homewood, IL and was a lifelong Cubs and Bears fan, which reveals his extraordinary capacity for devotion and commitment. "Go Cubs." Art came to Albuquerque in the early 1950's while serving in the United States Air Force. It was here at First United Methodist Church that he met a young woman named Dorothy Crampton, with whom he fell in love and married. Together they raised four Children. Art and Dorothy were very active long-time members of First United Methodist Church. Art was particularly proud of his position as a lay leader and membership in United Methodist Men and the Grace Meal Feeding Program. After completing his active duty with the Air Force, Art went to work for U.S. Postal Service working there until he retired. Art also spent many years as a member of the New Mexico Air National Guard attaining the rank of Chief Master Sergeant retiring at the age of 60.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; and sisters, Grace and Margaret. He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Endrihs (Ed) of Arkansas; children, Janet Engh, Bruce Cochrane (Glory), Diane Kaiser (Glenn) and Nancy Cochrane (Tim); grandchildren, Katrina Garcia Spillman (Bill), Ronnie Suknot (Nikki), Aaron Engh (Teila), Denny McClain (Amanda) and Ryan McClain (Hailey); and great-grandchildren, Vicente, Connor, Rylee, Autumn, and Gideon; and of course "Miss Kitty".
