James A. Aguilar, age 100, a resident of Albuquerque since 1926, went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 4, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Emo Jean Aguilar; children, Patsy Aguilar, Georgia M. Crabtree and husband, Dwight, Michael Aguilar and wife, Sondra, Nancy Nix and husband, David, Donna Aguilar, Lewis Aguilar, Margo Jones, Delores Cocoran and husband, Mike, Rodney Aguilar, Louise Walker and husband, Jerry, and Sandra Aguilar; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; niece, Magda Perez and husband, Felipe and many relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his son, Allen and sisters, Mercedes, Maria, and Lucha. He was born in 1912 in Vera Cruz, Mexico and moved to Albuquerque at the age of 14 with his father. James served in the United States Army. James started as a salesman at Jackson Furniture and was assistant manager at the time of his retirement after 27 years. He was a very personable salesman, having many loyal customers and had a very successful career. In his youth James was a boxer and was passionate about it up until his death. He loved to tell stories of his many experiences and trips that he took in his youth. James was very active even at the age of 100. He was a handyman extraordinaire around the house. James loved life to the fullest and wanted to live many more years. His philosophy was that all things are possible with God. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be James Crabtree, Amy Crabtree, James Aaron Crabtree III, Dwight Crabtree, David Nix, and Michael J. Aguilar.
