James M. Abbott

James M. Abbott, 86, died February 27, 2017. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, he lived most of his life in Granite City, IL. He is survived by two sons, three granddaughters, his sister and several other family and friends. James served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was the recipient of two Bronze Stars during that time. James was a gifted jack of all trades, worked in the construction industry and eventually was employed by Wal-Mart in Granite City, IL for many years. Friends may visit Tuesday March 7, 2017, 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at FRENCH- Lomas. Services will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017, 2:15 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Burial will follow.
