Jaime "James" Galvan

September 18, 1963 — January 21, 2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jaime “James” Galvan, age 57. Born September 18, 1963, in El Paso, Texas to Noe and Delia; he was called home to the Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2021, after battling an illness in Albuquerque, NM. Family called him Jamie. He was well known as James by his friends.
James attended Mayfield High School in Las Cruces, NM, graduating in 1981. While attending Mayfield HS, Jaime was a standout track, wrestling, and football player. He also attended NMSU in Las Cruces, NM.

James took his passion for physical fitness and tenacious work ethic to Seattle, WA, where he began his professional campaign in the highly competitive fitness industry. His dedication and leadership skills were recognized early in his young career, and he was ultimately promoted to an administrative role, managing different health clubs in the Seattle area. Eventually, James became tired of the forever gloomy forecast in Seattle and decided it was time for a change of scenery. He returned home to sunny New Mexico, spending his remaining years with family and friends while exploring a variety of professions. He never arrived at a family gathering empty-handed, and no matter where he was employed, he was always the hardest worker on the job.

James was the type of person that could accomplish whatever he put his mind to. He had an incredibly dynamic personality and a unique way of motivating and challenging those he shared his life with. Self-educated in a wide variety of topics, it was guaranteed that if you asked him a simple question, his response was going to be multifactorial and complex. James possessed an authentic soul and always remained true to his beliefs.

Jaime is survived by his mother, Delia Galvan; two sisters, Norma Gonzalez, and Irma Bowers; brother, Noe Galvan Jr. He will be greatly missed.

Due to the current social gathering restrictions, Jaime’s Memorial and Celebration of Life Service will be announced in the future.

For all those who have lost loved ones to COVID-19, our hearts break for you.
