Jacob James Williams

Williams, Jacob James (Poppy), age 86, a resident of Rio Rancho since 2015, died on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth (Debbie) Williams of Rio Rancho: children, Daryl Williams and wife, Jean (Patrice) of Grand Bay, AL; Dawn Haney and husband, Kevin of Rio Rancho, NM; Wendy Williams of Bernalillo, NM; and Eric Williams and wife, Charlene of Los Lunas, NM; 20 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren, siblings: Elizabeth (Betty) Napovanic of Monongahela, PA; Thomas (Tom) Williams and wife, Anna of Lake Station, IN; Marlene Neuman and husband, Wayne of Sebring, FL; Mary Ann Martin of Elizabeth, PA; Barbara Williams of Clairton, PA; Stephen (Steve) Williams and wife, JoAnn of Venetia, PA; Marcia Williams of Clairton, PA; nieces, nephews, and friends. Poppy Williams was preceded in death by David Williams, father, and Stephanie Williams, mother, David (Bud) Williams, sibling; Robert (Bob) Williams, sibling; and Crystal Williams, granddaughter.

Jacob Williams served four years in the US Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic both at home and overseas. He graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics as an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic. Poppy worked for a total of 38 years as a machinist with Machintosh Hemphill in Pittsburgh, PA and Advance Manufacturing in Bernalillo, NM.

Jacob Williams has been a member of Bernalillo Independent Baptist Church, Carlisle Community Church, 1st Baptist Church of Bernalillo (where he served for a few years in the foodbank), Sierra Vista Baptist Church, and Word of Life Baptist Church.

Viewing will be 9:30am MST, Friday, October 15, 2021, at FRENCH-Wyoming, with the service starting at 10am MST. To view the service online, click the link HERE .

A reception will follow at Albuquerque Bible Church, located at 320 Montano Rd. NW, until noon. Interment will occur on Friday, November 26, 2021, at 1:30pm MST at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Procession will begin at the cemetery gate.
