Jacob Dalton Graves, age 22, passed away August 22, 2018 in his hometown of Albuquerque, NM. Jacob was born on November 14, 1995 in Las Vegas, NV. He is survived by his mother, Amber Graves her fiancé Mark Apodaca of Albuquerque, NM; and his father, Edward Graves, of Banning, CA; his sister, Alexandria Graves; and his brother, Branden Graves, both of Albuquerque. He also leaves his maternal grandmother, Dori Graves aka Grammy and his paternal grandmother, Jean Bowman. He is also survived by his great aunt and uncle Mary and Paul Stang of Tijeras, NM; his aunt (Auntie) Robyn Cue of Denver, CO; his beloved cousins, Jade and Mariah Cue of Denver and numerous family members, friends and his brothers and sisters in the United States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, RJ Graves; his uncle, Glenn Graves; and his great-grandparents, Morris and Dora Compton of Albuquerque and Hazel Graves of Maynardville, TN.
Jacob graduated from Sandia High School in 2014. He was recently honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps on August 18, 2018 after serving aboard MCAS New River with MWSS 272 in Jacksonville, NC.
A Celebration of Jacob’s Life will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Wyoming with a reception immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Paws and Stripes, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping veterans by training shelter dogs to become service dogs. Donations can be made in Jacob’s honor at www.pawsandstripes.org. If you prefer to make a donation by mail, you can send a check to Paws and Stripes, 617 Truman Street NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
