Jackie W. Bruce, 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on May 21, 2015. He entered this world on April 21, 1930 in Wichita Falls, TX, born to Bert and Bertie Bruce. He was raised in Oklahoma City, OK. He was an avid "Sooners" Oklahoma University fan. He has been a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1986. He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Gutierrez-Bruce of the home in Albuquerque; son, Scot Ladd and wife, Earla; daughter, Kathryn Gilmore and husband, Verless (Gino); granddaughter, Rebecca Haynie and husband, Adam; and great-granddaughter, Evielyn all of Oklahoma; nephew, Dean Wooden and wife, Ann of Washington D.C; and niece, Steffani Walther and husband, Michael of South Carolina. Also his loving extended family, Linda Leyba, Ron and Linda Gutierrez, Chuck Gutierrez, Larry and Donna Gutierrez, Ken and Patty Gutierrez, Michael and Annette Leyba; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren all of Albuquerque. Jackie proudly served in the Navy aboard the USS Elkhorn AOG-7 from 1948 thru 1952 where he received a Korean and UN Ribbon, a Good Conduct Medal and Japanese Occupation and China Service campaign awards. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Ballut Abyad Temple, VFW and American Legion. A committal service will be held on Friday, June 5 2015, 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon, at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM.
