Jacki Lee (Richards) Anderson

Jacki Lee "Richards" Anderson, age 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 21, 2021, due to a short battle with Cholangiocarcinoma, a rare cancer. Her twin sister, Vicki Nycum and her husband, Buster, were with her when she left this life. Jacki and her twin sister were born January 4, 1946, in La Junta, Colorado to Alec and Mae Richards who preceded her death. Jacki's siblings are Lawrence Richards of Mora, NM, and Vicki Nycum of Fruita, Colorado. She married Leslie "Buster" Anderson September 4, 1965, in La Junta, Colorado. Her son, Michael, is married to Darla "Gallegos" Anderson and son, Eric, is married to Monica "Cunico" Anderson. Her three grandchildren are Jason, Dustin, and Paige.

Jacki grew up and graduated from La Junta High School in 1964. She continued her education and went on to school at Otero Junior College in La Junta, Colorado and graduated from New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico in 1979.

Jacki loved her job as a teacher. She enjoyed teaching her students and seeing them grow up. She would often run into them, and they would praise her for being one of the best teachers they ever had. She also had the privilege of teaching her two sons, Michael and Eric, and their wives, Darla, and Monica.

Retirement brought her joy and gave her more time to spend with her grandchildren. Traveling all over the world and in the states following Jason racing SuperCross and MotoCross. She had the credentials that allowed her to go anywhere in the stadiums. At times you would find her in the press box watching the races. She also went all over the country following Dustin as he participated in Golf Tournaments and hung out with Paige watching her in Gymnastics competitions.

She was a loving, happy, kind, and great person.
