Jack Woolsey Ramsey

Jack Woolsey Ramsey III, age 58, passed away peacefully in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Sunday, May 30, 2021, after a valiant struggle with cancer. Born in Asheville, North Carolina on April 22nd, 1963.

Jack was preceded in death by his father, Jack Ramsey Jr., and his sisters, Teresa Clendenon and Mona Jo Robinson.

Jack served in the United States Air Force for twenty-one years, where he traveled the world and earned the rank of Master Sergeant. Upon retirement from the military, he spent over fifteen years as the IT Chief for the South Western Region of the Army Corps of Engineers.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Shari Ramsey; his daughter, Jan Tompkins-Jackson and her husband, Aaron Jackson; his son, Mathew Wills; his son, Jack W Ramsey lV; his son, Jered Ramsey and his wife, Mikayla. Jack is also survived by his mother, Dorothy (Dot) Ramsey; his siblings, Alyson, and Richie Ramsey, as well a brother-in-law; and close family friend, Nikita Donovan.

Nothing made Jack happier in life than being Papa to his eight grandchildren: Hailee, Cody, Madisyn, Jack V, Jasmine, Bryce, Jaxon, and Elijah.
Jack was an avid NASCAR fan, specifically following Dale Earnhardt and later Dale Earnhardt Jr., as well as a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan.

Jack will be remembered for his smile, his enthusiasm for life, and his insatiable desire to learn all about the world around him.

In lieu of flowers, the family urges anybody wishing to make a gift in celebration of Jack's life to donate to St. Jude's or Joy Junction of Albuquerque in his name.
