J. Corwin Preston passed away surrounded by his family on the morning of April 17th, 2022. Born in Farnham, NE, on May 22nd, 1939, JC grew up in Alma, NE, and graduated from Alma High School in 1957. In June 1960, he married his wife of over 60 years, Judith Trotter. JC served as an engineer in the United States Army from 1962-65, where he was stationed at the White Sands Missile Range and Baumholder, Germany. After serving, he continued his engineering work at Sperry-Univac (UNISYS) where he installed MainFrame computers for Sandia Corp.
In his free time, he loved coaching YAFL football in the Northeast Heights area. In 1997, JC worked as a robotics engineer for PRI, which allowed him and his wife to travel the US, Italy, Germany, Ireland, and Singapore. After retiring in 2005, he worked as a Marshall at Twin Warriors Golf Course. JC sang for The New MexiChords Barbershop Harmony Chorus for 30 years, which was one of his greatest joys.
JC is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd E. Preston and Dana Pearce, and his brother Lloyd Dean (Joe) Preston. He is survived by his wife Judy Trotter Preston, daughter Wendy Preston Stell, granddaughter Jensen Stell, sister Julia Preston Wolf, brother-in-law Dr. Garry Wolf, sister-in-law Sheryl Sheets Preston, nephews Jason Wolf, Chad Preston, and Brian Preston, nieces Abby Wolf Zilch and Paula Preston Anderson and a host of friends - Especially in the men's and women's barbershop world. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 26th at 11:00am at FRENCH-Wyoming.
