Isidoro Paz

Isidoro Paz, age 93, A lifelong resident of Carnuel, NM went home on Thursday, December 14, 2017, just one day short of his 94th birthday, to celebrate with his wife, Carlota Paz and son, Vernie, who with open arms, awaited his arrival.

Isidoro was born to Enrique and Eduvigen Paz and was one of five children. He lived in Carnuel, NM until his induction into the U.S Army at the age of 18. SSgt. Isidoro “Ezzy” Paz was a decorated veteran of WWII and served our country with pride and Honor. On June 6, 1944 he took part in the D-Day Invasion of Normandy and fought in several major battles during the liberation of France. He was awarded “The Bronze Star”, and “The Bronze Star w/ Oak leaf Cluster”, for his heroic service and ‘The Purple Heart’ for injuries he sustained in combat. He also received a Combat Infantry Badge, a Good Conduct Ribbon, A European/African/Mid Eastern Theatre Ribbon, w/2 Battle Stars, and recently was presented a Liberation of France Medal. Isidoro Paz was not only a great husband, father and grandfather he was a true friend, mentor and patriarch to us all. He instilled in us the belief in God and country and was always there for anyone in need. We are proud and honored to have been blessed with this man in our lives and through us, his legacy will live on “Rest Easy our Hero, you will be Dearly Missed!”

Isidoro Is survived by his son, Isidoro “Junior” Paz; daughters, Judy Lucero and husband, Gilbert, Vera Gonzales and husband, Clemente (deceased); brother, Juanito Paz and wife, Becky; sister, Ida Gonzales; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and three great- great grandchildren. Isidoro also leaves behind numerous cherished nieces, nephews and friends. Isidoro was greeted in heaven by Our Lord Jesus Christ; his loving wife of 67 years, Carlota; his son, Vernie; his parents, Enrique and Eduvigen. Also greeting him were his brothers, Teodocio and Levenio Paz; son-in-law, Clemente Gonzales; grandson, Clemente, Gonzales Jr.; great granddaughter, Jessica Baca; and all his brothers that he proudly served with . What a reunion he must have had!

Rosary will be recited Wednesday, December 20, 2017, 10:15 a.m. and the Mass Celebrated, 11:00 a.m. at John XXIII Catholic Community Church, 4831 Tramway Ridge NE, Albuquerque, NM.  Interment with Military Honors will follow the services at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE.

There will be a Reception back at the church following the interment.
