Isabelle Rebecca Martinez

Isabelle Rebecca Martinez, "Nanny", matriarch and pillar of our family passed away at her home of 65 years on May 27, 2016. She was born in Espanola, NM to Ramon and Regina Vigil. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Napoleon O. Martinez; and children, Martha, Patrick, and Michael; brothers, Placido and Gilbert; sisters, Virginia and Louise Vigil; and nephew, Robert.
Isabelle was a devout Catholic and charter member of Our Lady of the Annunciation parish, where she sang in the choir for many years. She had a special gift and passion for working with special needs children as an Educational Assistant at Madison Middle School for 30 years. Isabelle was a caring and giving mother and grandmother, and had a special bond with her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Marty R. Martinez and wife, Eileen; and grandchildren, Nathan Martinez, Sarah C. Martinez, Emily and Matthew Sena; and her dog, Bella. She is also survived by members of the Vigil family, Laura, Kenneth, Francine, Corina, and their children.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - University. It was Isabelle's wish that no one wear black to her service.
