Iris Renee Gutierrez

Shortly after coming into the world, Iris Renee Gutierrez passed away peacefully in her parents arms at UNM Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. She was born at 3:52 p.m. on October 8th, 2015. She was six weeks early just 2lbs 7oz., 11 ½ inches long with lots of dark brown curly hair. During that fleeting time, she touched many lives and was loved by all that met her.
"From early on we knew your struggles, but our choice was to let this be your story, we love you our dearest Iris," mommy and daddy.
We hoped and prayed for the best outcome. We prayed for the doctors to have wisdom as they cared for you and mommy. We prayed for your health, and for our understanding and strength. Our hearts are broken but our love for you can never be taken.
Iris is survived by her Father and Mother: Mark and Amanda Gutierrez; her sister, Jaslyn Gutierrez; her Grandparents: Janice Montoya and husband Frank, Mark Gutierrez Sr., Rocky and Jasmine Briggs; Uncle, Nathan Briggs; Aunts: Monica Stevens and LaShawn Briggs; Great-grandmothers, Thea Gallegos, Cordie Briggs and Bridget Bradley; many great aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. She is preceded in death by her brother Gabriel Dale Gutierrez; great-grandfathers, Florentino P. Gallegos, Carrol Briggs and Ramon Gutierrez.
Rest in peace sweet Iris, until we can hold you in our arms again.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 24th, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas.
