Irene Aquiar Trujillo, 76, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2015 in her Albuquerque home. Irene graced this world in Deming, NM on February 3, 1939 as the second child of Genevieve Saucedo and Joe Aquiar. Irene was raised in Deming and worked as a secretary at Chaparral Elementary for seven years before relocating to Albuquerque, NM. Irene was a retired telephone operator working for US West/Quest for 23 years. Her two brothers and three sisters gave her 15 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Irene nurtured three children that brought her eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Irene was godmother to many children, relatives, friends and acquaintances. Irene Aquiar became Mrs. Juan Trujillo on May 10, 1980 and was a caring and supportive wife for 35 years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Juan; mother, Genevieve; sister, Rosie; brother, Pedro; and grandson, Robert. A more beautiful person might never again grace us with their presence. May those who mourn Irene remember her beautiful smile and kind heart. Rosary will be recited Saturday, June 13, 2015, 9:30 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, 87109 followed by the celebration of Mass at 10:00 a.m. with Father Tim Martinez, Celebrant. A reception will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 1502 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, 87124. A private family interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery on June 15, 2015.
