Irene G. Tafoya

Age 83, of Albuquerque, a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She is survived by her children Maggie Brown, Janet Tafoya, and John Tafoya and wife, Helen. She also leaves behind her siblings; Sally Tafoya and husband David, Victor Gutierrez, Juan Gutierrez and wife Angie, Ocaris Gutierrez, Florenio Gutierrez and Damian Gutierrez and wife Cecilia. Irene was a grandmother to Anthony, Sam, Jonathan and Jerad; great-grandmother to, Quinn, Josie and Alayna. She also leaves behind many other loving family members and friends. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Tafoya; her parents, Saturnino Gutierrez and Francisquita Abeyta; her siblings, Santa Cruz Gutierrez, Lucinia Baca, and Luis Gutierrez. She loved spending time with her family and friends and playing the occasional bingo game. Friends and family are invited to a Rosary Friday, June 20, 2014, 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Public viewing will begin at 6:00 pm. A Mass will follow Saturday, June 21, 2014, 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr SW. Cremation with a private burial will follow at a later date.
