Also touching Irene's life were the many ladies and gents that she spent time with playing bridge, dominos, dancing and traveling. Irene is proceeded in death by her husband, Robert E. Lafond.
A Rosary will be held August 8, 2024, at 2:00 with a reception to follow, at FRENCH-Lomas.
Irene left these messages, among others, in notes for us to find, "Have a heart that never hardens, a temper that never tires, and a touch that never hurts." A quote from Charles Dickens' Hard Times.
I'd like the memory of me
to be happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
of happy times and laughing
times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun
of happy memories that I leave
when life is done.
