Irene Boudreau, 93, went to the express line in Heaven, January 13, 2015. She died peacefully in the loving arms of her son, John, and with the wonderful staff at the New Mexico State Veterans home in Truth or Consequences, NM. Irene was one of the first women in New Mexico to join the Army when it began allowing women to enlist. She served in London during the blitz of WWII. She worked at the Corps of Engineers before and after her service in the Army. Irene attended the opening of the Women's Memorial in Washington, DC and is a member. She retired in 1973. Soon after retirement, she started volunteering at Lovelace Auxiliary. She was the past president of the auxiliary and was voted "The Outstanding Auxilian" for the state of New Mexico. Irene logged in more than 10,000 hours of volunteer service from 1974-2004. She was a lifetime member of the Beta lota Chapter of Epsilon Sigma. She was a member of Holy Ghost Parish since the late 1950's. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ted; parents John and Edith Seagalia, and her sister-in-law, Lorena Ledford. Irene is survived by her son, John; numerous nieces and nephews, especially Suzanne Ellis, and close friends, Muril Hagen and Pam Dickerhoff, from the Women's Auxiliary.
