Ollie Allred passed away August 10, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Etoile Allred; his sisters, Julia Anne Collins and Jane Talley; and his wife of 46 years, PattyAllred. Ollie is survived by his two children, Julie and Joe, and their families: Julie, Paul, Jessica Coonrod, Alyssa (Coonrod) and Josh Goss; and Joe, Rosie, Sophia, and Sam Allred.
Ollie grew up in Alabama, moving to New Mexico in college, in search of air that he could breathe easier. Shortly after arriving, he met his future wife, Patty at First Baptist Church in Albuquerque. Starting in the mail room at Albuquerque National Bank, Ollie’s hard work and people skills eventually landed him as Vice President of Sunwest Bank, in charge of the Trust Department. An avid tennis player, turned golfer, Ollie enjoyed sports and being outdoors. He and Patty loved their family, their friends, their church, playing bridge, and Lobo basketball. Ollie inspired us all to live a life of integrity, to love people, and to enjoy everything we do.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 18, 2017, 4:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 4101 Paseo del Norte NW, Albuquerque, NM. Memorial donations may be made to The Rock at NoonDay, P.O. Box 25451, Albuquerque, NM 87125.
