Inez Shaw

October 19, 1918 — August 1, 2012

Died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at her home in Albuquerque. She was born into the John Erwin and Lula Cleveland Newton Family on October 19, 1918, the youngest of six children, and she grew up in what was known as the Newton Community in Colfax County, New Mexico. She is survived by her only daughter, Lura Shaw Rotruck; four grandchildren, Vicky Jeanne Bolton, Michael Allen Rotruck and wife, Sandra Ann, Sandra Eileen Rotruck, and Janice Marie Johnson and husband, Randy; eight great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Richard Shaw and sister-in-law, Nora Mae Newton. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Leon Shaw; favorite son-in-law, Allen R. Rotruck; brothers, Solon, Oliver and Aubie Newton; as well as her sisters, Ona Gleaves and Ruth Bolinger. Inez retired from the accounting department of St. Joseph's Hospital. Inez and Jim spent their retirement years in New Mexico. A fantastic cook, she also loved dancing, gardening, fishing, traveling, and spending time with her family and many friends. She will be remembered for her wonderful smile, keen humor and sharp wit. Memorial donations in honor of Inez may be made to The Ronald McDonald House Charities or the charity of your choice. Services for Inez will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. The family requests that you attend in casual clothing.
