Inez Haskie Paywa (Nezzie) born January 5, 1945, was raised by Pauline and Ross Hakey in Fort Wingate, New Mexico.
Inez resided in Gallup, New Mexico, until moving to Lawrence Kansas to attend school at Haskell Institute where she met the love of her life Louie, they grew so found of one another that by the end of school in 1965 they were calling him "Mr. Haskie
Come January 3, 1966, they tied the knot, and Louie was sent off to the Army while Inez learned she was pregnant with the first of what would later be three children.
Nezzie was a volunteer at Dolores Gonzalez Elementary School before she started work with The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) where she retired in 2011.
Nezzie's free, loving caring one of a kind spirit will be missed she was a wonderful wife, a loving mother, a terrific grand/great grandmother.
she's survived by her children Tyrone, Tracy & Kevin her 5 grandchildren Racquel, Luella, Alexandria, Gregory, and Savannah. A service was held on March 6, 2025, and she was laid to rest with her husband Luther at the Gallup State Veterans Cemetery.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Ross and Pauline and her loving husband Luther
