Ignacio Perez, Sr.

Ignacio Perez, Sr., was born November 10, 1939, in Durango, Mexico. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, October 29th, 2024, with his wife by his side. "Perez" is what his friends called him. He worked at the Albuquerque airport in maintenance. In May 1964, he became a fireman with AFD where he worked for 20 years. Perez retired in 1984. Ignacio and Loretta moved to Jemez where they lived in a home they built. Perez enjoyed hiking, fishing, and going to the hot springs. After 20 years in Jemez, they moved back to Albuquerque. 

Ignacio Perez is survived by his wife, Loretta; sons, Ignacio Perez II (Victoria) and Stephen Chavez; daughter, Teresa Torrez (Martin); two grandsons; six granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and another great grandchild on the way.

He was predeceased by his parents, Don Jose and Doña Maria Perez and his son, Ignacio Perez, Jr.

A visitation will be held for Ignacio on Thursday November 14 at 6 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m., at FRENCH - University. Mass will be held the following morning of November 15 at 10 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE. Burial will follow promptly at Sandia Memory Gardens at 11:30 a.m. A reception will take place after services on November 15, 2024, at St. Charles Borromeo Church at 12:45 p.m.

Pallbearers are Ignacio Perez II, Stephen Chavez, Martin Torrez, George Castillo, Daniel Torrez, and Richard Badillo.
