Howard Eugene Clark

Howard E. Clark, 82, slipped safely behind the veil to reap his eternal reward on August 23, 2021. Howard was born December 7, 1938, in Winfield, KS, to John and Katie Clark. After graduating from Winfield High School in 1957, Howard attended Emporia State University where he earned a business degree and was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. He also served in the National Guard.

Shortly after graduation, Howard started with JCPenney's, where he worked for the next 25 years in Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, and New Mexico. He married Norma Jacks on July 16, 1966, at St. Patrick's Church in Kansas City, KS. Howard and Norma celebrated 55 years of marriage in July.

During retirement, his favorite activities included socializing with friends, gardening, participating in St. Francis Faith Community and the "Living Well with MS" support group. He enjoyed cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. He will be remembered for his humor, kindness, and unconditional love for those close to him.

He is survived by his wife, Norma, daughter Lisa (Mike) Bretz of North Liberty, IA, son Dan (Sarah) Clark of Albuquerque, NM, and four grandchildren, Sabrina, Nathan, Lilith, and Adina.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00pm on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at FRENCH-Wyoming. A mass will take place at 9:30am on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE. Interment will take place in Winfield, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society or a charity of one's choice.
