Albuquerque- Korean War Veteran and retired Government employee Horacio Amado Jaramillo entered the Gates of Heaven on March 4, 2024, at the age of 91 surrounded by his loving and dedicated family. Horacio was born in El Rito, NM. He served in the Army with a tour during the Korean War in Japan. He retired from Sandia National Laboratory.
Horacio is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Frances Jaramillo; daughter, Yolanda Smith, and husband Dave Sr.; son, Larry Jaramillo and partner, Dana Jordan; daughter, Diana Cordova and partner, Moe Brown; and son, Joseph Jaramillo and fiancée, Lucila Sanchez; 16 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Michael Jaramillo Sr.; father and mother- Poli Carpio and Rufinita Jaramillo of El Rito, NM; brothers, Gardino Jaramillo of Simi Valley, CA and Arsenio Jaramillo of San Diego, CA.
Horacio was a devout Catholic who attended church daily at the Shrine of Saint Bernadette’s Church.
Rosary will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 7 PM - San Juan Nepomuceno Church, Main Street, El Rito, NM
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 10 AM - Shrine of Saint Bernadette Catholic Church, 11509 Indian School Rd NE, Albuquerque NM
Reception to follow at the Shrine of Saint Bernadette Parish hall. Followed by burial at 2:30 pm Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM.
