Hope Taylor

October 25, 1925 — May 1, 2013

Mom was a proud member of the Comanche Nation Tribe. She was born at home in Walters, OK to Leslie Ticeahkie and Kitty Hokup-Ticeahkie. Her birth year was in question. Her age would depend on if she wanted to be older or younger, so we will say she was 89. She left us and went home on May 1, 2013. She lived in Albuquerque for over 52 years. She is survived by her children; daughter, Lesley Allen and her husband, Bruce, and their children, Nicole Chavez and her husband, Greg; Greg Allen and his wife, Emily; Alethia Allen; Christopher Allen and his wife, Virginia; daughter, Carole Swedberg and her husband, Jim; daughter, Kris (Lois) O'Brien and her husband, Tim; their children Robbie, Kallie Ticeahkie, Daniel, Ian and Austin; son, Doug Taylor and his wife, Robyn, and their children, Aden and Avery; her great grandkids, Kirstin, Madyson, Royce, Matthew, Cooper, Dalilah; and her new great grandbaby, whom she was waiting to trade places with, Ticeahkie Dean Allen, born May 1, 2013; brother-in-law Bob Hicks and sister-in-law Myrtle Denny of Oklahoma; long-time friend Geneva Navarro and many relatives and friends in both Albuquerque and Oklahoma. Mom was preceded in death by our dad, CD Taylor; her beautiful great granddaughter Grace Olivia; her much loved granddaughter-in-law Rebecca; our little Baby O'Brien; and her sisters, Gertrude, Geraldine, Gladys and Faith. She was a member of the Baptist Church and loved hearing and singing the old hymns. She was a member of the Haskell Club and the Comanche Language Club. Mom graduated from Lawrence Kansas High School in 1945 and then worked as a Dormitory Attendant. She also worked at the shipyards in Oregon. The job she loved the best was being "Mom" and "Kakoo". At the time of her passing she was living at Manzano Del Sol. She enjoyed playing bingo, and Wii bowling. She would be so excited when she won a candy bar or stuffed animal. She loved the staff and fellow residents at Manzano, always making sure she got her hugs from everyone. Mom's greatest joy was her family and the time she could spend with them was priceless. She was so very proud of all her babies. I think each and every one of them was her "Favorite." We truly believe that she was waiting for Tice to be born; it gave her great pleasure to know that he would be the second grandbaby to be named after her. We would like to thank the Amazing staff at Manzano del Sol, and Amber Care. We would love to name everyone, but the list would go on and on. Mom loved each one of you. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Services will be on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Manzano Del Sol, 5201 Roma NE, Albuquerque. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg and Christopher Allen; Robbie, Daniel, Kallie, Ian, and Austin O'Brien. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Manzano Del Sol, Staff Endowment Fund, 5201 Roma NE. Albuquerque, NM 87108. Mom you will be truly missed. Your Loving Family.
