Here is a brief glimpse of the life of our beloved mother who lived for 91 years, and suddenly left this earth on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, while staying at her daughters’ home in Albuquerque, NM.
She was the oldest of 9 children who lived at the family home in Bon Aqua, TN, and was surround by relatives who lived nearby. Later, after she moved to Nashville for work, she met and married her husband who was in the service. They moved from Tennessee to Pennsylvania to raise their own family, first in Philadelphia then in West Chester.
Forty years later, after her husband's death, she returned to live in McEwen and Waverly, TN to reconnect with her family and friends. She loved her home in Waverly and enjoyed her winter visits to New Mexico. Her last years she would spend a little more time in New Mexico visiting with her youngest daughter and her family, for her health and to enjoy the beautiful blue skies, drier winters and spending time with people she had met over the years during previous visits.
Mom thought she never accomplished much in her life, but we have many memories of small acts of kindness, sacrifices she made, fun we had, and the love she gave to each of us. Those who knew her treasured any time spent with her. She had a quiet reserve, was quick to show her beautiful smile and was gracious to everyone she met. Her life wasn't always easy, and she endured the sadness and loss of many that she loved.
In addition to her husband, Carmen J. "Duke" Di Bruno, and her parents, John Elvin Tidwell and Ida Jane Dedman Tidwell, she would outlive 6 of her 8 siblings, 3 of her six children, 1 grandchild, 2 great-grandchildren and most long-time friends. Surviving her are daughters, Candy Seaton of Waverly, TN and Venus (Robert) Weir of Albuquerque, NM; son, Dean (Cindy) Di Bruno of Cherryville, NC; 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren; and a circle of dear friends.
Her external beauty was just a part of the true beauty within her soul, as she trusted her Savior in all things.
Please join us for a celebration of her life on October 19, 2019, 12:00 p.m., at New Hope Baptist Church at 10244 New Hope Rd., Bon Aqua, TN 38105.
