Herta Vizcarra

On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, Herta Vizcarra passed away at the age of 88. Herta was born on June 10, 1933, in the city of Ulm, Germany.

She was the daughter of Gisela and Wilhelm Gluck.  Herta was the wife of Carlos Vizcarra, and the mother of Mario and Susan. Herta took care of the family as they lived in various places across the U.S. and internationally during Carlos' career in the U.S. Army. When Carlos retired from the military, Herta and Carlos owned several businesses, eventually retiring in Sandia Park. Herta enjoyed entertaining friends in her home and sharing stories from her long, happy life.

Herta was predeceased by her husband, Carlos; and daughter, Susan, her parents; her brother; and a sister. She is survived by her son, Mario; daughter-in-law, Peggy; and grandsons, Will and Stephen. Herta's remains will be interred in the VA National Cemetery in Santa Fe along with Carlos and Susan.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021, 12:00 noon at Herta's home in Sandia Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
