Henry Sisneros

December 16, 1927 — June 3, 2012

SISNEROS, HENRY CHARLESPassed away Sunday, June 3, 2012 at the age of 84. Henry is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Corrine; son David, wife Linda, granddaughter Jennifer, great-grandson Andrew, daughter Nancy Padilla, husband Larry, granddaughter Lesley Escobar, son Richard, wife Janet, grandchildren Kimberly and Kevin, daughter Roberta Carl, husband Rod, granddaughter Audrey, daughter Cynthia Vetter, son Christopher, wife Tina, grandsons Mathew Henry and Jacob Paul, daughter Carolyn Harmon and husband Kevin. Born in Santa Fe, NM to Elisa and Carlos Sisneros, Henry was the eldest brother to Joe, Johnny, Lewis and Dolores Benavidez. At a young age he started working at Payless Drug to support his family. After graduating from Albuquerque High in 1946, he enlisted in the army where he fought for his country in the Korean War - fighting in the battle of Pork Chop Hill. He was a part of the 101st Infantry Division 45th Recon Company and a member of the American Legion Post 49. After surviving the war and a fire on his plane returning to the U.S, he was glad to be home. He began his family life and started his own business Henry's Appliance Repair and ended up retiring from Sandia Labs where we worked as an electrician. Though Henry was a larger than life personality he never met a stranger. Willing to tell stories of the war, his many UFO sightings, and life experiences to those that would listen, he was liked by many. He was a huge Buy American advocate who believed in supporting the economy of his country, he was a wealth of information and was very sharp with politics and world events. After retirement, Henry and Corrine put a lot of mileage on their car. Supporting their grandchildren, they went to countless cheer and dance competitions, soccer games, choral concerts, tae kwon do matches and musical theater performances. He thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities his grandchildren were a part of and this was his new full time job. He also spent a lot of time as his little brother Lewis' sidekick and advisor. Henry will be missed dearly by those who loved him, the many people he touched and ALL he encountered.
