Henry was born to parents Delmont (Henry Sr) and Beatrice Duewall Chism on Wednesday, May 15, 1940 in Wichita Falls, TX. He grew up as the big brother to sisters Barbara (long married to his best friend George Leigh) and Ruthanne Broome and graduated from Technical High School in Ft Worth and attended Arlington State College. He loved airplanes, cars, tractors, guns and steam trains. At 22, he earned his pilot’s license and was racing cars by 26. He married Barbara Hutchins and had three daughters. He lived in Mansfield, TX from 1969 – 2005 in the historic Ralph S. Man homestead, now the City of Mansfield Heritage Museum, where he owned and operated a sand and gravel business. He was also a talented welder creating beautiful things such as a porch swing and gate for the family home. He lived there for most of his life before retiring and spending time with family. Throughout his life, he exhibited unfailing devotion to his family. He was, unknowingly, a positive role model in many lives.
