JOLLY, HELENE "NANCY"Age 101, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Born in Washington, DC on October 15, 1911, Nancy moved around a lot with her father's military career. She met her late husband, Edwin Joseph Jolly (Joe), in Albuquerque when her family moved from Chicago in 1936. Joe and Nancy married in 1942 just before Joe shipped out to Hawaii to serve in World War II. After the war Nancy's husband Joe returned to his career with the government, transferring with the family to many places including Mexico, Minnesota and Washington, D.C. Nancy was a homemaker but did hold various jobs over her lifetime: seamstress, sales clerk and as an accounts payable clerk. Trained in music, she performed in choral groups and enjoyed piano as well. She took up painting when she and Joe retired in Rio Rancho in 1980. Both Nancy and her husband enjoyed the arts, researching their genealogy and traveling to Europe during their senior years. She was especially proud of her grandfather, Albert Ulysses Wyman, who served as treasurer of the United States under Ulysses S Grant and Chester A. Arthur. Nancy is survived by her four children, Margaret Jolly of Albuquerque, Frank Jolly and wife, Barbara of Charlottesville, VA, Sylvia Buell and husband, Dennis of Gaithersburg, MD and Mike Jolly and wife, Bonnie of Bloomington, IN; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
