Helen Beatrice Carlberg LeKates

Helen Beatrice Carlberg LeKates, our much-loved Mom and Nanny passed away peacefully on August 26th, 2024 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Helen was born November 19th, 1925 to Sadie and Edwin Carlberg in Higbee, Missouri. She grew up in Missouri, Illinois and Washington and as an adult lived in Delaware, Florida, Arizona and finally, New Mexico. Helen was a registered nurse for more than 50 years, starting her career in the nurse cadet corps during WWII and serving in many different areas of the profession during her long lifetime.

Helen loved and was devoted to her four children, eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren who in turn loved and were devoted to her. She was an active and devoted member of Monte Vista Christian Church since 1981 where memorial services will be held on October 19th, 2024. More information can be found at www.montevista.org.
