Helen Dmitri Jackson was called to her eternal resting place on July 26, 2015. She was 76-years-old and battled with dementia in recent years. She was married to Walter R. Jackson since 1956. She gave birth to five children, adopted a granddaughter at a young age, and helped raise another granddaughter. Helen entered this world on May 4, 1939, in Horatio, AR, born to Rosalie and USAF Captain James Walker. She met her husband, Walt, in Wiesbaden, Germany while he was serving in the United States Air Force overseas. She was stationed there with her family. Helen graduated from Highland High School and went on to graduate with honors from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor's degree in accounting. She had a deep passion for reading, often buying bags of books at a time from the local library. She enjoyed spending weekends at the lake, fishing, and searching for beautiful rocks and pieces of shore wood to bring home. She took great pride in living on a farm in Belen, New Mexico, and adored her animals - especially her dogs and horses. She attended Belen's First Baptist Church, Hoffmantown Church, and Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque. She dedicated most of her life to raising children to be well-rounded, successful, loving people in life. She encouraged her children to learn, laugh, and to appreciate the beauty of the world. Even in her declining years, she continued to be a wellspring of courage, love, and devotion - always concerned about others and putting them first. Helen had a natural glow, beauty, easy social grace, even temperament, and a playful sense of humor. She was known by all to be dependable, hard-working, and reliable, always leaving a positive and impactful stamp on everyone she interacted with. She is survived by her husband, Walter Jackson; her mother, Rosalie Walker; siblings, Richard and Jim Walker; children, Denese Jackson, Kelly McGinn, Tamara Sanchez, Stephen Jackson, Erin Holland and Shannon Jackson; and, her granddaughter, Ryan Baca, who she helped raise. Her other grandchildren are Keleen Vielma, Megan McGinn, Connor McGinn, Lance Sanchez, Walter Sanchez, Dennis Watley, Casey Holland, Caitlin Holland, and Cassidy Holland.
