Helen M. Gonzales

Helen Gonzales, 74, beloved mother, was called to her eternal resting place on March 8, 2017. She entered this world on September 15, 1942 in Taos, NM, born to Eutimio and Eufelia Medina.
She grew up in Taos, NM and Rock Springs, Wyoming. She met the love of her life in Taos while he was working at his brother-in-law's gas station. She graduated and then married the man of her dreams on October 31, 1961. They moved to Santa Fe, Pecos, and eventually settled down in Rio Rancho.
Helen is preceded in death by her father and mother; her brother, Albert; her father-in-law, Jose; her mother-in-law, Guadalupe; her brother-in-law, Gus; her sister-in-law, Mary Alice, and her loving husband, Nicolas Gonzales, Sr.
She is survived by her sister, Ruby Rodriguez; her brothers, Raymond Medina and Sam Medina; her daughters, Lisa Gatti (Robert), Margaret Gonzales, Frances Gonzales, Agnes Cordero (Ramon) and Dolores Livingston; her son, Nick Gonzales, Jr.; Philip Gonzales, Sr.; David Gonzales (Jen); a special grandson that she raised from birth, Aaron Gonzales (Amanda), 19 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, her in-laws, nieces and nephews, and a lot of cousins.
Helen was a busy housewife who took care of her kids, grandkids, and great-grand kids. She was a member of the Past Presidents of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and a member of the Church of the Incarnation.
A Rosary will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Road NE, in Rio Rancho. A Mass will be held Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow. Interment will take place on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
