Helen V. Edwards

Helen Edwards, 94, beloved Mother, was called to rest Sunday, April 21, 2019. She was born in Altus, OK, to Robert and Minnie Van Burkleo . She graduated from Oklahoma State University and received a music educator's degree. Her stellar piano playing helped her teach children of all ages to love music. She was preceeded in death by her husband of 53 years, Commander James E. Edwards, Sr.; a brother, Robert Payne Van Burkleo; and a sister Katherine Phelps. She is survived by children, James E. Edwards, Jr., William Van Edwards, and Mary K. Edwards Bollish (​Mark F. Bollish); two grandsons, David (Hillary) Bollish, and Joshua Bollish; brother, Glenn Van Burkleo; and sister Frances Deming. Internment will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with her husband. Any Donations of rememberance may be sent to the Manzano Del Sol Independent living Employees Christmas Fund. 5201 Roma Ave N.E.
