BRINEGAR, HELEN BETHAge 88, passed away February 5, 2013 and was born to William Ross Elliott and Mattie McMath on August 13, 1924 in Moran, Texas. She married her beloved Warren Boyd Brinegar on December 27, 1945. She is survived by her sons, Paul E. Brinegar, Michael W. Brinegar and wife, Keri Brinegar, Steven B. Brinegar and Boyd W. Brinegar who was her incredible care giver for the last years of her life. Because of him, she was able to realize her wish to reach the end in her home. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Shirley Brinegar and Betty Lee Elliott and numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and some great-grand nieces and nephews. Mom's love of the written word led to many hours of Scrabble and Crossword puzzles. She practiced her professional story telling by making up stories for her four young boys while she did the dishes or baked bread. Later she worked with many story tellers throughout New Mexico. She worked as a library aid for many years in the Santa Fe Public Schools and was noted for getting rambunctious grade schoolers to enjoy library time. Mom was also a published writer of Science Fiction stories, a passion she got from her father who also had his Sci-fi works published. One of Mom's joys in the last years was the sing-a-long group that met at Manzano Mesa Multi-generational center. She enjoyed the friendship and fun of singing long remembered songs, some from way back in her childhood. She always said she might not be singing well, but she was singing loud. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; her parents, William and Mattie; her brother, W.R. Elliot Jr. and her sister, Olga Ann Irwin; brothers-in-law, Paul A. Brinegar Jr. and Roy Irwin and Warren's parents, Paul A. and Louise M. Brinegar. A Celebration of Helen's Life Service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle Blvd SE.
