Hector D. Salgado Sr. 69, beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on February 15, 2018. He entered this world on June 30, 1948 in Marfa, TX, born to Tomas and Rosalia Salgado. He is survived by his spouse, Hope Salgado; daughter, Valerie Cruz-Gutierrez; son-in-law, Steve Gutierrez; son, Hector D. Salgado, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Marie Salgado; grandchildren, Monique A. Cruz, Hector D. Salgado III, Robert T. Salgado, Raymond R. Cruz, Jr.; granddaughters-in-law, Rachael Salgado and Megan Salgado; great-grand-daughter, Amaiah Salgado; brothers, Tomas Salgado, Joe Henry Salgado, Alfred Salgado; sisters, Nellie Martinez, Betty Tarin, Anna Mata, Lillie Ramirez, Rosalinda Munoz, Sally Gomez; and many loved nieces and nephews. He retired from the Disabled American Veterans and served in the Army from 1968 - 1970, was a Vietnam Combat Veteran and a two time Purple Heart recipient. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. with the rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. in the FRENCH - Rio Rancho Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho, with interment to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m.
