Haskell “Hack” Dean Clay, 70, of Albuquerque passed away on May 26, 2017.

He was born in Temple, Oklahoma to Charles and Retha Clay in 1946. He was the third of their six children. He was preceded in death by loving wife of 24 years Leonila “Lila” who passed away in November of 1996.

He worked in construction most of his life for the company his father started. He worked on many projects around U.N.M. and C.N.M. during his career. He was a talented man who could build or repair just about anything he put his hands on. He loved spending time working on projects at home, painting landscapes, or building arts and crafts projects for his grandchildren. He had a passion for the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish around New Mexico, particularly for elk with his horses.

He will be missed dearly by his daughter and son in law, Renee and Shane Heard, and his three grandchildren Audrey DeAnn,14,  Amanda Serena, 11, Stephen Clay, 8. He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters, two brothers in law and three sisters in law and his nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017, 1:00 p.m., at FRENCH – Westside. Interment will follow with both Haskell and his late wife, Leonila "Lila" being placed together at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE. Please visit our online guestbook for Haskell at www.FrenchFunerals.com
