Harry Ellis Noll

d. April 10, 2017

Harry Ellis Noll, Lt. Colonel, USAF Retired. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Harry Ellis Noll.

Born July 15, 1925, a youthful resident of Hutchinson, KS and high school graduate. Harry passed away peacefully in his sleep with family surrounding him. Harry is survived by his daughter, Diann Zentner and her husband, Larry of Albuquerque, NM; grandsons, Jonathan Zentner and fiance, Krista Kutzer of Colorado Springs, CO, Jason Zentner and wife Emma of Cheltenham, England; and his great-grandchildren, Gethyn and Evelyn Zentner.

When Harry Noll graduated from high school, he immediately enlisted in the US Navy serving as a radio operator for three years. Upon VE Day, Harry continued his education graduating from Kansas State University and receiving a US Air Force ROTC officer commission in May 1951. While in college, he would meet his life-long, beloved wife of 62 years, Erma Whitmore Noll. He served our USAF as an Adjutant, Personnel and Manpower Officer, and Nuclear Weapons and Safety Officer earning variety of specialty career codes. Lt. Col Noll's duty assignments spanned the globe during the Korean conflict, Viet Nam war, and numerous conflicts in the Pacific, Central America, and Southeast and Southwest Asia, retiring from active duty with 29 years of service in January 1978.

Harry Noll was a dedicated golf player and he enjoyed square dancing and bridge with Erma. During their retirement years, they also toured the country camping with their RV trailer with the Thunderbird Travel Club. While dancing and bridge was most satisfying, his passion was golf which he often played four days a week right up to the illness that would curtain the adventures in early 2017. Harry's premier game would be playing 18-holes on the St. Andrew's course in Scotland, home of golf and his grandchildren's wedding site. Harry E. Noll was a man of few words, but he loved his family, he loved the outdoors, and spoke frequently of his children's accomplishments which he was so proud of. He will be missed.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at La Vida Llena Chapel, 10501 Lagrima De Oro Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
