Harriet Salathe was whisked into the arms of Jesus on Friday morning, January 4, 2019. She was a dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to so many. Born on June 28, 1932 in San Mateo, CA, Harriet grew up in San Mateo, and met her true love, John Salathe, while in high school there. They were happily married for 68 years. John and Harriet lived much of their married life in Bellevue, WA. They moved to Albuquerque, NM in 2006.
Harriet was preceded in death by her mother, Ivy Spayd; her father, Harry Styles; and her brother, Hal Styles. She is survived by her loving husband, John; her son, Craig Salathe and his wife, Sandy of Redmond, WA; and her daughter, Linda Paul and her husband, Kent of Albuquerque. In addition, she is survived by three grandchildren, Jenna Lenhart of Loveland, CO, Brian Paul of Rochester Hills, MI, and Max Salathe of Seattle, WA; and three great- grandchildren, Makenzie, Carson and Cody.
Harriet’s life was defined by her love for her husband, her devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her commitment to her family. She relished the opportunity to share her values, love and time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She served within her churches through the years in many capacities though teaching the bible was her greatest joy. Harriet loved her many years of service in Bible Study Fellowship, including 10 years as a Teaching Leader in Bellevue, WA. She was an author, a servant, and always an encourager.
Harriet’s family would like to thank the staff at La Vida Llena’s Mi Casa Memory Care Unit for their kind, tender, loving care during the past six months.
