Harold Edward Travis, Jr. Age 50, resident of Albuquerque for 2 1/2 years, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2015. He survived by his wife, Wanda; children, Austin Travis, Paige Travis, U.S. Army Specialist Robert Jones, Dusty Jones, and Christina Jones; grandchildren, Wanda Lynn Higham, Kaya Higham and Isabella Wood; father, Harold Edward Travis, Sr.; aunt, Susan Whittington; best friend, Tom Andron, and numerous friends from all around the world. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Whittington Travis; grandparents, Julia and Ernest Whittington and Pauline and James Travis, all of Paducah. Ed was born in Paducah, KY and graduated from Heath High School. He went on to receive paramedic training and worked for the Kentucky State Department of Emergency Services. Ed received his Associate of Science in Nursing from Paducah Community College. He met his future wife, Wanda, while working at Lourdes Hospital. They married in 2006 and started their lives as traveling nurses. Their first assignment was at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. Ed and Wanda worked at many hospitals around the U.S. such as Memphis, TN, Tuba City, AZ, Walsenburg, CO, and even working with the U.S. Army at Ft. Bliss, El Paso, TX. After being assigned to Albuquerque for the third time they decided that it would be a good place to "hang their hat" and live here. Ed will always be remembered a true gentle giant. He was caring, compassionate, and considerate and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
