Harold L. Bentley

Harold L. Bentley, 91, born August 16, 1927, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 18, 2018. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Pat; his parents, Mable Slatten-Bentley and Dallas Decater Bentley; and his three sisters, Leona Nunley, Sally Sue McKaskle and Wilma Parks. He will be very missed by his four children, Joy Orr, Kathy Fortune, Brian K. Bentley and Judy Bentley; six grandchildren, Karla and husband, Conor McKenna, Brian S. and wife, Margaret Bentley, Serena and husband, Paul Greene, Rowdy Orr, Tony and wife, Kailey Waters and Shanna Orr.  Also, 16 great grandkids Katie McKenna, Jayde, Hunter, Clover and Kelly Bentley, Madison, Austin, Cristian and Morgan Greene, Rebel, Justin and Mikayla Orr, Audree Waters, Rafe, Aurora and Ilyza Greene.

Harold worked as an Electrical Estimator until he was 82! Dad loved horseracing and later Casino video poker. He and Pat owned a few racehorses over the years and all the family birthdays and most holidays were celebrated at the Downs of Albuquerque Jockey Club. Dad always worried about his kids up to the very end and never realized we are all hovering this or that side of 60! To him we were still his babies.

Life will never be the same without him and we miss him very much. There will be a Scattering of Ashes Saturday, May 25, 2019, 2:00 p.m at the Rose Garden of Sunset Memorial Park. A Reception will follow at 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH-University. In lieu of flowers, please donate in his memory to your favorite charity.
