H. Henry Blackburn

April 3, 1939 — November 19, 2015

H. Henry Blackburn, 76, passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2015 after battling a neuro-muscular disease for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Elizabeth I. (Fox) Blackburn, who tenderly cared for him even during the difficult final years. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Blackburn; two daughters, Laura Blackburn and Cathy Johnson; son-in-law, Karl Johnson; five grandchildren; brother/sisters-in-law, cousins, and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard, and his son Henry. He was born on April 3, 1939 to Hargreaves and Helen Blackburn in New Bedford, MA. Working on a fishing boat, pitching on baseball teams, and driving race cars shaped his early life. As a first generation college graduate, he became a successful mechanical/quality control engineer. Henry and his family moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1972. He had many interests that included golfing, taking family road trips, and watching his favorite sports teams. As his mobility became impaired, he took on computer projects and developed a passion for political issues. He will probably be remembered most for his lively discussions and his deep sense of integrity. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his doctor and the people from Heritage Hospice who not only provided invaluable care and support throughout this past year, but became dear friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 9, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming.
