Gwinn Henry

GWINN "BUB" HENRYPassed away at home on Monday, August 13, 2012. Born in Columbia, MO on January 8, 1928 to Gwinn and Amy Henry. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dona; five sons, Patrick and wife, Gail, Matt and wife, Lisa, Mark, Tim and wife, Barbara, Roben and wife, Karen; eight grandchildren, Shelly, Brandon, Shannon, Gwinn, Kenny, Kurt, Kyle and Roope; seven great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and wife, John and Nadene Plath; two nephews; and six nieces. Bub was an outstanding athlete at Albuquerque High School, graduating in 1946. He retired from the University of New Mexico in 1990 after a 30 year career, spending most of those years as Director of Alumni Relations. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012, 11:30 a.m. at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle Blvd SE. Because of his love of education, UNM and Albuquerque High School, the family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Gwinn Henry Scholarship Fund at UNM or the Albuquerque High Lettermen's Association.
