Gwendolyn Jones Gilbert

Age 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1967, Gwen passed peacefully to be with our Lord on Friday, April 3, 2015. Gwen was born October 4, 1926 to Corna Dillon and Ida Mae Jones in Oklahoma City. She was the youngest of four siblings. Gwen graduated from Central High School in OK City in 1944 and Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha in 1948 with a BA in music. Gwen married Ray after meeting him on a blind date while he was stationed at Ft. Sill Army Post. Gwen is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, retired USAF Col Raymond H. Gilbert, Jr; her daughter, Jeanette Gilbert, her sister Anetha Porter, and her brothers Corna Dillon Jones, Jr and Harold Jones. Gwen is survived by her son Ray Gilbert and wife, Barbara of Albuquerque and Grandchildren; Danny (Sasha) Gilbert of Hays, KS, Debbie (Rene) Luis of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. and Steve (Nicole) Gilbert of Tacoma, WA. Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery with her husband.
