Gust Chamas, 85, beloved Father and devoted Husband, passed away peacefully at his home on April 23, 2018 surrounded by his family. He entered this world on March 6, 1933 in Long Beach, CA, born to Gust and Crystal Chamas. He is survived by his spouse of over 66 years Gloria Chamas of the home; son, Lawrence Chamas and wife JoJean Chamas of Smithville, MO; daughter, Laura Chamas-Ortega and husband Moises Ortega of Belen, NM; son, Gust Chamas and wife Elizabeth Chamas of Albuquerque, NM; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Gust was a Teamster's Union member for 40 years, 22 years with New Mexico Local 492. He retired from ABF Freight in 1992. Gust's legacy will live on through his family and his contribution to the Labor Movement.
