Guadalupe Guthrie, age 87, died on Saturday, March 18, 2017.
She is survived by her daughter, Anna Marie Wormald of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Keenan Wormald, Bianca Wormald, Sada Abila and husband, Sergio, and Shawn Guthrie; two great-grandchildren, Shevelle Abila and Deklan Guthrie; loving companion, Dean Stanfield; and numerous other relatives and friends. Guadalupe was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Guthrie; son, Howard Guthrie; and sisters, Eva Gutierrez and Lola Castillo.
She was born in 1929 in Globe, AZ, to Francisco and Apolonia Ortega. Guadalupe worked for the University of California in Los Alamos, as a procurement agent until her retirement. Guadalupe dedicated many years of her post-retirement life, volunteering for the UNM Comadre a Comadre Program and UNM Children's Hospital, where she touched the souls of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Cremation has taken place, and eulogies will start Saturday, April 1, 2017, 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, in Peralta, NM.
