Guadalupe Griego, 89, a loving and dedicated mother, born in Las Vegas, NM and a resident of Albuquerque since 1961, died Tuesday April 25, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio “Tony” Griego in 1982. “Lupe” is the eldest of nine siblings and was also preceded in death by her brother, Benjamin; mother, Agripina and father, Carlos. She is survived by her siblings, Lucy and husband, Manuel, Tony and wife, Rose, Louie and wife, Barbara, Annabelle and husband, Dennis, Manuel and wife, Isabel, Teo and wife, Maria, and Angela. She is also survived by her three sons, Kenneth and wife, Bernadette of Albuquerque, Tony and wife, Angelina of Atlanta, and Carlos and wife, Joann of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren, Angelisa LeDoux and husband, Chris, Charlynn Griffiths and husband, Sam, Christen Fauntleroy and husband, Sean, Jessica Griego, Isaiah and fiancée, Kathy O’Reilly, Santana Griego, and Lorena Griego. She also is survived by two great-grandchildren, Zenon Montoya, and Gavin Griffiths, and one future great-grandson on the way, Caden Fauntleroy. She also leaves many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Lupe was known for her loving kindness, acceptance, hospitality, encouragement, lessons and awesome cooking.
A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 815 Guaymas Pl. NE, Albuquerque NM, 87108. Friends may visit beginning at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 Guadalupe St., Santa Fe NM, 87501. Pallbearers will be Michael Palmer, Isaiah Griego, Mark Sanchez, Chris Sanchez, Carlos Sanchez, Sean Fauntleroy, Michael Griego, John Havlina, and Chris LeDoux (Honorary Pallbearer).
