Greg Lichtenberger, 66, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13th, 2018 at his home. Born in Albuquerque, NM to Wally and Evelyn Lichtenberger, he lived most of his life in Albuquerque with a stint in Tulsa, OK and some formidable years in Mt. Zion, Illinois. He graduated from Mt. Zion High School (home of the Braves) in 1969 where he played football. Greg was a loving, dedicated and hardworking man, dedicating much of his life to his children first and foremost as well as the pursuit of perfecting his craft in the plumbing and heating industry. He was extremely well respected throughout his industry as a world class plumber and craftsman. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, camping, traveling, family gatherings and dining out all with his life partner Debby, playing board games, playing sports (softball and volleyball), and watching TV (especially wrestling, football and 1970s-1990s action films).
Greg was extremely proud of his three children: Michael Lichtenberger and his wife Kelly of Albuquerque; Leigh-Ann Lichtenberger (Jack Tirella) of Leesburg, VA; and Damon Lichtenberger of Wake Forest, NC. He is also survived by his mother, Evelyn Lichtenberger; his brother Daniel (Venus) Lichtenberger, his life partner and best friend, Debby Dusenbury, and her children; daughter, Jessica (Fred) Muehlmeyer, grandchildren Justin, Reed, August, Laurel, Lilia, Rye, Rourke, (Raina, deceased), son, Kevin (Jaylene) Davis, grandchildren McKenna, Everitt, son, Bryan Davis, and Debby’s nine sisters, two brothers, and their ten spouses. Debby’s large family, children and grandchildren loved and respected Greg and he was such an important part of their family. Greg remained friends with the mother of his children, Kathy Smith, over the years as he believed very much in a strong co-parenting foundation. He will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren Sara, Rachel, Jacob, Addison, and Geneva Gabrielle, as well as nephews Trent and Travis. Greg was always the first one to give the shirt off of his back for anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and throughout his entire community. We are so blessed that he touched so many lives in a positive way throughout his time on earth.
